Kirifuri Overlook

The Kirifuri Overlook over the villages of Aioi and Matsubara, Nikko Japan

From Zen Hostel, every morning, we drive 25 minutes over the mountains to bring guests to the Unesco world heritage area to places such as Toshogu Shrine, Rinnoji Temple, Futarasan shrine and Shinkyo Bridge or to the bus stop for places like Chuzenji Lake, Kegon Falls, Senjogahara, Yuno Lake and Yumoto Hot-springs.

On the way over the mountains and on the way down, we come to a beautiful landscape view overlooking the villages of Aioi and Matsubara where JR Nikko and Tobu Nikko are, respectively. These two villages and two train stations and “tourist Nikko” are about 8 kilometers west of central Nikko.

We are happy to report that the fall foliage and autumn leaves are giving great color these days.
