It about 80% filled in with soil.  It will need a good till come March.

The length of the organic garden faces south.

Old tatami has been recycled to be used to stop runoff into the street gutter.  The tatami took nearly a full year to begin to decompose whereas it became flexible enough to bend and mold.

There is a slight slope from the back of the garden to the street, so the tatami is stopping some of the liquid from flowing freely out of the garden.

Ōya stone is used for the boundary/wall.

Ōya stone is what Frank Lloyd Wright used in buidling the old Imperial Hotel located in Tokyo’s Hibiya district completed in 1923.
