Snowfall in Central Okorogawa, Nikko Japan

This is the village where the hostel is and the hostel is an even more remote location than what you see in the photograph. That is the only traffic signal in a radius of at least 10-15km.

It’s at this intersection where you can choose to go toward Oku Nikko or toward Central Nikko or the World heritage sites and temples and shrines of Nikko. To go to Oku-Nikko; Senjogahara, Lake Chuzenji, Lake Yuno, Yumoto Hotsprings, you want to go through the village of Kiyotaki.

If you go in the direction of Central Nikko and the temples and shrines, there will be another fork in the road. At that fork you can go straight to go to Central Nikko (Imaichi) or turn left to go to the Unesco world heritage sites and temples and shrines of Nikko; Toshogu shrine, Rinnoji temple, Futarasan temple and Tairuin mausoleum.

On the sign, Fubasami refers to JR Fubasami station on the JR Nikko line. It is the first station in Nikko city when coming from Utsunomiya. Fubasami station is the station we can pick you up from.
