At the foot of Nantai is a cute park that’s great for picnicking and rest

about 2/3 of the way up the hiking trail on Mt. Nantai from Chuzenji Lake is a wonderful view of Lake Yuno and the northern tip of Senjogahara. Lake Yu from hiking train on Nantai Mountain 湯ノ湖 translated literally is Yu No Ko ~ Lake of hot-spring water Lake Yuno? Lake of Yu, Lake Yu?

It was one of those moonrises where you can see the glow of the moon behind an object. Here that object is Mt. Nantai on on a cool September evening. Some pine trees on the distant ridge line are seen in front of the moon.

If you’re lucky when you get to the top of Mt. Nantai, you will get a view of Mt. Fuji 170km away. We hiked in September and there were so many dragonflies. You can see some flying in the photographs.
